7 Ways to Approach Women and Pick Up Girls That You Should Avoid
Knowing how to act and what to say when approaching women and picking up girls is something all men struggle with at some point in their dating career. Let’s examine some of the things you should avoid.
Honesty is not the best policy when it comes to meeting girls. In fact guys love to add exaggeration to make the attempt more interesting for both of them, and finally earn them a date. “why spoil a good story with the truth” they say – and the males of our species certainly ring that one true.
The problem starts when men fail to know the kind of humor that women like to hear. As men, our sense of humor is way different than that of women. For them being raunchy is good but dirty and obscene is definitely a turn off. You also have to be unique and different when it comes to pickup lines. Some jokes would be downright hilarious when you hang out with your buddies, but the same would actually be quite irritating for a lady. In a nutshell, women get offended that you think that you can sleep with her without even knowing her name. They feel they all have something special within them and that is the best place to start your flattery, if you want to get any closer to her. Here are some approaches I would definitely NOT be recommending you try if you want to learn how to successfully pickup girls:
1: The Simpleton approach:
“Hi, my name is ________”
This is probably the oldest and the most immature line you can come up to meet a girl. Yes it is simple and straightforward, but if you are in a bar where everyone knows that they are hunting for their match, this is definitely not going to match you with anybody, unless you are a five year old.
2: The Hands on Approach:
Any pickup line or approach that involves you physically touching her is usually a no go. Unless you know each other or have at least been chatting for a while, physical contact can be taken the wrong way and is a social faux pas in any situation – especially when you are trying to impress! Here is an example:
“Excuse me, but you have a beep on your nose. [What?] (reach up and gently squeeze her nose) BEEP!”
You may sound like you are being unique but you have unfortunately annoyed her incredibly. Not only did you touch her but you thought she had something that a clown would show off.
3: The Cocky Approach
It’s one thing to be confident – but there is a fine line between confidence and cockiness. For Example:
“Hey girl, it’s your lucky day. Out of all the girls here, I chose you to talk to.”
Are you a male supermodel? But then you would never be reading this article in the first place. If you read anywhere that being confident is important, forget about it. You are being arrogant and assuming that she will see you. Arrogance is a big turnoff for a big majority, if not everyone.
4: Superficial Flattery.
They say Flattery will get you nowhere – and if it shows your shallow side and fails to see past the obvious then it will indeed get you nowhere – fast! For Example:
“You aren’t wearing socks. [Yeah...]. I know why… You have sexy ankles.”
Is that the best thing you liked about her? Aimless flattery will probably insult her and creep her. If anything it will leave her thinking you have a strange fetish no one has heard about.
5: The Obvious Approach
Sometimes stating the obvious can be a form of humor and in fact this works well with your mates usually. The same cannot be said for your online dating prospects. For Example:
“So, you’re a girl huh?”
What the hell?! Unless the Dude looks like a lady I have no idea what possessed you to say that?!
Maybe she can notice you are going through a nervous breakdown and at a loss for words, but that is only if you are lucky. Trying to be clever like that will just make you look stupid and boring.
6: The Funny Man Approach:
Humor is probably the greatest way to win her over, but if you are not naturally funny and/or you tell inappropriate jokes this will only make you look foolish and do anything but impress her. For Example:
“I just sh*t my pants. Can I get in to yours?”
The first statement might be intended to sound like an innocent kid, but the fact that you mentioned something infinitely dirty. She will stay away from you. Bathroom jokes are the last thing you should start and then asking if you could get even more intimate with you.
7: The Chauvinist Approach:
There is nothing more offputting to a girl than a chauvinist pig of a man. If you are even slightly like this and you want women to actually talk to you then I suggest you either change your ways or you learn to hide it. Pickup lines that are sexual or derogatory in nature only help to reaffirm your status as an asshole. For example:
“Want to see something swell?”
You just got extremely raunchy and desperate, just hope she is not a fan of kickboxing.
